I am a true "Jack of all Trades" problem solver, born and raised in Southern California where I became a small business owner, and later relocated to Texas where I would have more opportunities to expand on my goals as an aspiring firearms designer. I have experience in a wide variety of technical skills, including but not limited to 2D / 3D CAD, Manual & CNC machining, Welding & Fabrication, and several forms of additive manufacturing. I also have a background in Information Technology (IT) involving system setup and networking, as well as experience in cyber security as a site security penetration tester.
I previously worked as a prototype machinist and robotics shop technician for Vebu Labs, previously Wavemaker Labs, where I was responsible for both the fabrication, and modification of robotics components throughout the course of the system's development. In addition to my manufacturing experience, I also developed and applied simple and practical solutions to complex problems across multiple subsystems in order to improve reliability, and ultimately reduce production costs.
I am also the sole designer of multiple small arms (firearms) designs, including my Type 100/25 "Tensei" carbine, and my "Pathfinder" survival pistol. My business, Calleja Ex Machina Industries, specializes in the design and development of "unique" firearms designs, primarily ones that are inspired by, or otherwise influenced by vintage and antique firearms across multiple historical eras.
My personal projects include a complete restoration on my beloved 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle, where a complete structural re-evaluation and restoration was done following a serious collision. In addition, I also restore vintage motorcycles, and recently began the process of designing an ultralight aircraft with the intent of building it for my own enjoyment.
I am a licensed Type 7 (Manufacturer) Federal Firearms Licensee with a Class 02 SOT as Calleja Ex Machina LLC, as well as a licensed private (non commercial) pilot with 130 hours experience in Cessna 172 aircraft.
